March 20, 1944 - Geography Lessons
Italy

"...Today makes a year since I was last in that old country called the States. One year of fun, heartbreak and thrills. A year older and a year in a sense kind of wasted. Know a heck of a lot more about coastlines anyhow. Boy! who would of ever thought that while in school that they'd visit some of the countries they were so bored with in school. Incidentally, I have a kick coming two ways about Germany. Stood in after school cause I didn't have my nightwork on it, and now because Germany keeps me up some nights with their nightwork...(Air Raids)..."
